Minor Surgery

At Bellbowrie Family Medical Practice, our experienced doctors are able to perform minor surgery here in our rooms. Minor surgery is defined as any procedure that does not pose a significant risk to the patient. It involves external or superficial parts of the body or may be a low-risk manipulative procedure or injection. Our doctors are fully trained in these procedures and our practice complies with Australian regulations.

When you come to us for minor surgery, our aim is to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Your doctor will discuss the procedure with you beforehand, inform you of any risks, and could be assisted by one of our fully trained nurses. You may be given a local anesthetic (depending on the type of procedure you are having) or pain relief after the procedure is over.

When you are booked in for a procedure, you will need to allow extra time for the consultation and you may also need to allow additional recovery time before you can leave. Your doctor will advise you in advance if you will be unable to drive directly after the procedure.
