Musculoskeletal Medicine

Musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, lower back pain and inflammation due to injury are common, affecting over 6 million Australians (1). Musculoskeletal conditions account for almost 25% of the total cost of healthcare in western countries (ibid). They are also a major factor in early retirement, lost work productivity and severe long-term pain.

At Bellbowrie Family Practice, we are experienced in the diagnosis, prevention and early detection of musculoskeletal conditions. We also work closely with other health professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best treatment for their conditions.

What is a Musculoskeletal Condition?

A musculoskeletal condition is an injury or illness that affects the body’s movement. Muscles, nerves, bones, tendons, discs and ligaments can be affected and the condition may cause severe long-term pain. Some of the common musculoskeletal conditions include:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
